Currently we have two locations. The original building is located at 414 Murphy Avenue at the corner of Brandon Street. The bays of the building are dedicated to two original officers; Captain Poynter and Chief Grayson. The second and newest building has 6 bays that house 4 engines, 1 brush truck, and 1 cascade/equipment truck.

The Ferguson Fire Department was founded in 1974 by 3 citizens of Ferguson, who also served as the original officers of the department; Chief Virgil Grayson, Assistant Chief Bryan Morrow, and Captain Don Poynter. The first engine was a 1946 International class “B” pumper, it was accompanied by a deuce and a half make shift tanker.

The fire department was incorporated on February 21, 1978. The department started with an insurance rating of a “Class 9” in 1974. Under command of Chief Bryan Morrow, the department was granted a “Class 6” . With the addition of equipment and training, the department was granted a “Class 3” prior to his retirement in 1986.
